The sequel to Sony’s highly successful offroad racer MotorStorm has been dated for North America. Motorstorm: Pacific Rift will be released on October 28th. This game expands on the original providing a bucket load of new features, of course a new environment and trophy support.
For many this might be hard to turn down. For me, not so hard. I might be a trophy whore but I won’t buy a game that I don’t like just to get them.
Hopefully we’ll see the game release around the same time in Europe, I can’t see why it wouldn’t.
Oh yeah, that image topping the post is the official North American boxart too.

Yesterday Rolling Stone magazine revealed 10 new songs that would be appearing in Activision’s forthcoming game ‘Guitar Hero: World Tour’. There’s some pretty cool stuff in here and Manchester is being represented by The Stone Roses which is always nice to see. Hit the jump for the list.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Matt Wilson from SOE discusses the upcoming PS3 and PC mmo, when asked about the possibility of cross platform play he hints it’s a possibility and adds,
“In fact, we’re actually doing that at the office. Technology-wise, it’s really not that complicated.”
So there you go, although while technically possible Matt does go into detail about possible drawbacks to a cross platform strategy, full interview after the jump Continue reading

Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty has today officially been canned for release on blu-ray. I personally never saw the point of the game getting released on BD as well as the PSN but, whatever. The game is now on the PSN exclusively just like the US. It seems like the other European territories will still get the game both ways though. I’ve no idea why this decision has been taken but i’ll update you if I find out.

Wipeout HD is one of my personal most wanted games from the PSN this year and today it’s been priced. Yeah that’s right it’s been given a price but no date. Anyway, I was shocked to find out that the game would be priced at £11.99 over here in the UK. Sweet!
I’ll definitely be picking this up now.

As there’s no European update today i’m just gonna post ’em separately this week. Not a bad update some good stuff here. Think Jeopardy’s a little over overpriced though. Hit the jump for the list. Continue reading

So Rock Band hasn’t been patched but PAIN has. The popular PSN game got it’s patch today which now incorperates Sony’s Trophies into the game. The patch was meant to drop last week (September 4th) but was delayed due to the trophies being to hard for people to actually get. They’re still pretty hard to get though.
The patch also added a new feature called the ‘PAIN Labs’ in which developers Idol Minds will be putting up new levels for the community to test each week, which is nice of em.
Hit the jump for the trophy list. Continue reading

It has been announced over at the European PlayStation forums that Europe will not be getting a store update today due to technical difficulties. Sony are yet to commit to annything but it looks like we could get the update with the release of Rock Band in Europe tomorrow.
For those who’ve got the game early it certainly looks like you won’t be getting any DLC or the patch that has already hit for the the US version of the game.
The FIFA 09 demo was also meant to be coming today (as I posted about yesterday) but that looks like it won’t be happening until tomorrow. It looks like the US will be getting an update and the demo will be there so that’s good.
Shame for all those people who’ve got RB and can’t experience the full thing just yet. Sony better have a good reason for updating a day late. Until then this is one epic fail for SCEE.
