It looks like the guys over at LittleBigPlanetoid have been busy using their imagination over the Christmas period, making a list of great costumes they’d like to see in LittleBigPlanet (one of them being above). They drempt up 20 different characters/franchises they’d like to see made into costumes and, well, check em out for yourself.

How cool would it be to have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in LBP. Answer: Very Cool.

Review: Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer (PS3 Via PSN) by Anthony Barlow

Yet another 2D shooter makes it’s way onto the PlayStation Store and, whilst that might sound like a bad thing, it seems to be going quite well. These games are giving players a good selection within the genre, which is great (at least we’re not being charged to play UNO or something). So, ok on with the review.

For those who don’t know Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer is a 2D, side scrolling, sci-fi shooter from EastAsiaSoft. Released on the PC in December last year, how does this PSN port hold up? Hit the jump to find out. Continue reading

Capcom Hints At PS3 Dead Rising? by Anthony Barlow

Ok so for our first BIG (and I mean big) rumor since we’ve returned is a pretty damn good one. Capcom’s John Diamonon hinted at something potentially cool. In his most recent post (which can be seen here) he writes:

Oh yeah, there’s also a big (sentence deleted by Capcom and SCEA PR ninjas)….Can you believe it? Wow, how can you not be excited about that? I’m just glad that I was finally able to talk about it. It’s been a long time coming but I’m ecstatic that it’s actually going to happen.

Now of course this actually means nothing, although when a commenter asked:

I must say that it is awesome that you announced Dead Rising for the PSN, right?

To which John replied:

Who announced it? Me? I don’t think so! )

Well, because of the smiley face the internet has exploded with speculation that Dead Rising is, in fact, finally going to be released on PS3 and possibly via the PlayStation Store. Hopefully this is true, i’ve been waiting to get my hands on that game for a while. come on Capcom do the right thing.

Review: Astro Tripper (PS3 Via PSN) by Anthony Barlow

Over the autumn/winter period there was a hell of a lot of great releases on the PlayStation Store, but a lot of games seemed to get pushed to one side, with gamers favoring the delights of the bigger retail games rather than some of the gems on Sony’s store. Astro Tripper is one such game. Continue reading

[By Anthony]

It’s been one hell of a year and there’s been some really amazing games released in 2008 and I feel that XeNonX should honour these fine pieces of art (yeah, I said it) in the first annual ‘XeNonX Game Of The Year Awards’. I will post the nominees for each category now, but due to complications the winners will not be announced until early January (that’s my fault). Each genre (except RPG’s because of the lack of them) have a category, which all have five nominations, except for the main award which has ten. Hit the jump for the nominations. Continue reading

After a whole five days worth of break the XeNonX crew are back to provide our daily commentary on the day’s news. We’ll be posting a few things over the next few days, but we won’t be fully up and running until after the new year.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and it’s good to be back.

Hey people, it’s time for the XeNonX cerew to go on break. Although we are people of the internet, we need to spend time with loved ones, open presents and gorge on food too ya know.

We’ll be back on December 29th with our Game Of The Year Nominees and will be fully up and running in the new year. Of course if anything major occurs during our time off (like Microsoft going bump, Wii’s killing Miyamoto) then of course we’ll be there covering it for you guys.

Other than that, i’d just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) and we’ll see you soon.

Bye for now.

I was sort of eagerly awaiting this game and it seems to have crept up on, well, pretty much everyone. From the devs behind Star Wars: Battlefront comes Lord Of The Rings: Conquest. If you’ve played the aformentioned Star Wars title, then you know what to expect, or at least you think you do. Hit the jump for more. Continue reading

Due to some unforseen complications, the XeNonX GOTY (Game Of The Year) nominations have had to be put back a few days. We were originally meant to announce the nominees today, but said circumstances have caused us to move the post back until December 29th. I do appologise for this, to compensate i’ll be putting my review of Astro Tripper up today as well as a few more things too (hopefully), so please stick around folks.

It’s almost Christmas and because it falls on a Thursday this year, Sony have been nice and updated the PlayStation Store two days early! They never seemed like the the type to screw their users out of a week’s content. What a week of content it is too. There’s MGS themed stuff for LittleBigPlanet, a new add-on pack for Buzz! and a pretty cool demo. Hit the jump for the list, and no the demo isn’t God Of War 3. Continue reading

Roy Orbison To Hit Rock Band? by Anthony Barlow

Now this is a little unexpected. It seems that, music legend, Roy Orbison will be making his way into Rock Band/Rock Band 2. CMT (Country Music Television) have let it slip, when advertising their Boxing Day show ‘Top 20 Countdown’, that, well, here’s the quote.

“Plus, get details on how you can rock out with The Soul of Rock and Roll with the upcoming release of the Roy Orbison Pack for Rock Band 2 consoles”.

There is a pretty big Rock Band ad next to the piece and seeing as CMT is an MTV channnel and MTV games publish Rock Band, this seems pretty likely. Unexpected, but there’s a possibility of awesomeness. Bring on ‘I Drove All Night’!

SOCOM 1.30 Patch In January by Anthony Barlow

The patch many thought was gonna be the saving grace of SOCOM: Confrontation has been delayed again. The 1.30 patch, which adds ‘Quick Match’ and ‘Party’ modes to the game (really, it didn’t have these?) will unfortunately not be available until 2009. Here’s what Sony had to say:

“Unfortunately, due to the Holidays the update will not be approved by SCE Format QA until early next year. Our QA staff will be here, testing the game over vacation, but the SCE QA teams which must approve the update before release will not.”

Shame. Seriously though, anyone who hasn’t given up on this game yet, enjoy what the patch brings. I just don’t think this’ll help bump up the numbers though.

Smackdown Vs. Raw 09 Gets Exclusive PS3 DLC by Anthony Barlow

The PlayStation Blog has informed us that the latest WWE game, Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009 will be getting some exclusive downloadable content come January. Sure, this might not be massive news, but for any WWE fan this is pretty cool. Well…here’s the list:

  • Evan Bourne – playable Superstar
  • Ted DiBiase – playable Superstar
  • Charlie Haas – playable Superstar
  • Chris Jericho – alternate attire
  • Kelly Kelly – holiday costume (EXCLUSIVELY ON PS3)
  • Maria Santa – holiday costume (EXCLUSIVELY ON PS3)
  • Masked Kane – alternate attire (EXCLUSIVELY ON PS3)
  • MVP – alternate attire (EXCLUSIVELY ON PS3)
  • Edge – alternate attire (EXCLUSIVELY ON PS3)

So there’s a few new downloadable ‘superstars’ as well as some costumes for the people already in there. It’s nice for THQ to include some ‘holiday costumes’, but they’ll be a little late in January won’t they? Like I said though, they’re coming out sometime in January for $4.99. Not too bad then.
