Remember those screens we posted a little while back showing a Paradise City Police Car? Sure you do. Well, Criterion have announced today that a new ‘Cops & Robbers’ mode is coming for Burnout: Paradise.

According to the “Criterion Games Network” (viewable on the PS3 and PC versions),this DLC will arrive after all of the other previously announced packs (excluding the island). It’s apparently “dedicated to bringing the thrills and spills of cops and robbers car chases in Paradise City.”. Sounds good, hopefully we’ll get more info soon. Nice job guys.

It looks like the Paradise City police have finally caught on to all the racing that goes in in the city they’re supposed to “protect and serve”. Some footage has appeared on the internet presumably showing a police chase of sorts occuring within Paradise City, leading people to suggest that ‘Pursuit Mode’ will be coming back to Burnout via a patch or DLC. You can see that the something regarding police appeared on the Burnout store in the ‘Ultimate Box’ trailer (see the gallery at the bottom of this post) as well as images of a cop car, one of which tops this post.

It’s Friday “i’m in love”, so maybe we’ll get the skinny from Criterion today. Sounds good though, if what’s being said is right I hope we see it soon.

For starters there will be a restart race function if you lose, new trophies for the three new packs as well as some gameplay and visual tweaks. Hit the jump for the lowdown. Continue reading

Friday, more often than not, is Criterion day and they rarely have nothing of interest to talk about. Today they have announced that the Party Pack DLC, announced last year, will be coming on the 5th February. Not only will it add to the game modes, it’ll also (hopefully) add to your trophy collection. Always something I like to hear.

The guys also announced that the Ultimate Box version of the game would be coming to Europe as well as North America. That will be released on February 6th and will feature all of the updates and DLC thus far.

More Criterion news and they’ve also announced that an upcoming free patch will be avaialble soon. This patch will allow players to access an in-game store and website. There’s changes to the game modes, visuals, car dynamics and as they so coyly put it “Oh yeah we’ve added a restart !”.

Nice of Criterion to give us stuff, both free and paid-for. Will be awaiting the Party Pack for some easy trophies and the new patch sounds really good. Good ol’ Criterion we loves ya.

Oh Criterion how we love you. In the first CrashTV of 2009 the Criterion crew have something pretty damn cool to show us. It’s the ‘Legendary Cars’ pack for Burnout: Paradise. Of course we already know about the Jansen 88 Special, but what else do they have in store for us?

  • Carson GT Nighthawk – KITT from Knight Rdier
  • Manhattan Spirit – Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters
  • Cavalry Bootlegger – The Chicinator

You can see all of the cars, including the 88 Special, in the gallery after the jump. The CrashTV Video is there too. Go on, go now. You know you want too. Continue reading

We knew the paid-for DLC was coming and now we know that we’ll be able to buy it in-game. Criterion have announced (via www.criteriongames.com) that an in game store is coming to the extremely popular, XeNonX GOTY nominee, Burnout: Paradise. So we knew new content would be coming and now we know we can get it directly, how nice of Criterion. Burnout: Paradise was one of my favourite games of last year and I love to see what Criterion are doing. Now come on, make Black 2!

Sometime last week, if you compared your trophies with a friend, you might have noticed something odd about your percentage in Burnout: Paradise. Earlier in the year the guys at Criterion announced that they would be adding a new ‘Party Mode’ to the game as their first paid-for downloadable content. It was also announced that this new update would contain trophies. Well, EA/Criterion seem to have sneakily informed players of what trophies are to come. When players compare their trophies with someone on their friends list they’ll notice that their overall percentage of trophies has dropped 10%. This is because the new trophies have, somehow, been added to this list (but not, I might add, to your trophy collection. Weird eh? Anyway, hit the jump for the list.
