Ubisoft have announced today that a demo for their new Tom Clancy game  H.A.W.X. will be coming to the PlayStation Store this coming Thursday. The demo will contain two levels from Ubi’s latest game under the Tom Clancy brand, but how will it hold up against more prominent flight-based games Ace Combat and WarHawk? Well we’ll have to wait and see on that one. Hit the jump for the screenshots.

Prince Of Persia “Epilogue” coming Feb. 26th by Anthony Barlow

Ubisoft have just announced some upcoming downloadable content for Prince Of Persia. The DLC, named “Epilogue”, will take place directly after the game’s shitty ending and will add to the story a little more.

This DLC will put The Prince and Elika in a new situation against a new enemy. The Shapeshifter (I wonder what his power is?) and will apparently strengthen the bond between the two characters.

The Shapeshifter will apparently take the forms of The Hunter and The Warrior but will require a new power, sprint, in order to defeat him. The DLC also gives Elika the “Energize” power, which will allow her to restore a piece of land temporarily. Ubisoft have said they wanted to “build a challenge and experience even greater with all the tools at our disposal, and let me say that there are a lot: Elika’s power, traps, combat system, etc.”

It seems like it could be cool, I still don’t like the idea of paying for ‘the real ending’ to the game. The DLC is set to hit both PS3 and 360 on February 26th, Ubisoft have not yet provided us with a price. Let’s hope it’s cheap-ish eh.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the sequel to Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed II (2), is official. It is guaranteed to be in our hands by the short time of….March 2010. Yeah it seems really far away for those who were fans of the game, but personally it should give them time to fix the errors made with the first game (exciting combat?). Anyway, best hopes for the game, the first was pretty cool for a new IP.

In a conference call this week Ubisoft confirmed that a sequel to the successful, yet not so critically acclaimed, stealth action game Assasins Creed is in the works. The Montreal based developer have not yet released anything on the game and would not even give it a tentative release date. An Ubisoft executive did say that they will release the game when there’s “more anticipation for it”.

Oh come on Ubi, stop messing about. After Prince Of Persia, this game will be top priority. I think we can expect to see this possibly at the end of next year or early 2010 at the latest.

Hideo Kojima was honoured at the MTV Games Awards. Kojima was presented the award by Jade Raymond of Ubisoft fame. When asked about the accolade, the legendary designer said:

“I have to say, even though I received this award, let me state that I will not retire. I will continue to create games as long as I live.”

We’re glad to hear that, hopefully we’ll be seeing them on the PS3 exclusively. That would be nice. It’s nice to see Kojima honoured the way he should be.

Ubisoft have announced that people who sign up at Ubisoft.com and register their copy of Prince Of Persia will get a free Altair costume to use within the game. It was also said that the ‘classic’ prince may be available in the future too. Pre-orderers (in the UK at least) can get the ‘classic Prince’ costume when they buy from Play.com. It’s definitely cool of Ubi to give away stuff they could easily sell as DLC. They’ve also done free DLC for EndWar which was available on the PlayStation Store for a week. They are being generous, aren’t they. For more information head to Ubisoft’s official website.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar is the new title in the Tom Clancy universe developed by who other than Ubisoft. But, this isn’t the tactical shooter you’d expect out of the Tom Clancy games. This is an RTS (Real Time Strategy) game, and just from playing the demo, I think Ubisoft have put a foot in the right direction when it comes to making console RTS’. Everyone thought that the typical RTS could not be played without mouse and keyboard. Ubisoft proves em’ wrong. Hit the jump for my impressions on it. Continue reading

This time it concerns pro snowboarder Shaun White and his new game, the aptly named, ‘Shaun White Snowboarding’. Hit the jump for the list. Continue reading

Tom Clancy’s upcoming RTS is getting trophies. OohRah! We love the fact that more and more Playstation 3 games are getting trophies. It’s really becoming a trend that’s more than welcome to stay. EndWar is set to release November 4th in the US and November 7th in the UK. Will it be worth playing once sure-fire hits release like Fallout 3, LittleBig Planet or Far Cry 2 come out? We will only know with time. Anyway, hit the jump for the list. Continue reading

New Prince Of Persia Dated by Anthony Barlow

Ubisoft’s upcoming Prince Of Persia game has been dated. It’s surprising to hear that the game will make it out in December after it was missing from many of the summer trade shows. I personally thought the game might have been delayed, but i’m really excited to hear that it’s going to make it out before Christmas. The game has been dated for December 2nd in North America but there’s no word on a European release date as of yet. Hopefully we’ll get one soon.

I think this game might have been overlooked if it had come out in October or November, a wise decision by Ubisoft which gives the game a fighting chance. Count me in for this one.

Driver Coming To European PS Store Next Week by Anthony Barlow

The PlayStation Classics on the PSN certainly are sparse but now it looks like Sony are getting their arses in gear a bit. Next week they’re set to release the original Driver on the PS Store in Europe (no confirmation for the U.S. yet). It’ll be the usual price of £3.49 which is a great price for this, plus you can put it on your PSP.

I just wish they’d get releasing a downloadable version of Metal Gear Solid on one of the non-Japanese stores. Myabe the release of one of the PlayStations best games will kick off some kind of wave of classic content, who knows?

Hells Highway Delayed Again – Whoo For Me! by Anthony Barlow

Ubisoft’s Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway hasn’t had the easiest road to release but it was announced that it was coming in August and now the game has slipped one month to September. Not too bad I guess but it does allow me to pick it up now without sacrificing anything in August (it’s supposed to one game a month for me).

It has been revealed that there will be a collectors edition for the game (above). This is currently only announced for American release but it’d be cool if it came out here. For an extra $10 you get a US Airbourne figurine thing, a comic book and a map of the upper Rhine. Is all of that really needed, especially the map.

Nice though.
