Fracture is the new shooter being developed by Day 1 Studios and published by Lucasarts. This is one of the MANY shooters coming out this holiday season. But this one has a twist, and it’s called “Terrain Deformation”. You will be able to manipulate the terrain around you however you please. But is this revolutionary or just another cheesy gimmick? You be the judge and play the demo next week. It will be available on the PSN sometime next week, for free of course. If you enjoy the demo, this one is set to release on October 7th in the US and October 10th in Europe.

BioShock PS3 Has 10 Minute Mandatory Install by Anthony Barlow

I’m really looking forward to BioShock coming to the PS3, but this latest announcement (curtosey of Dtoid) has put me off a little. The game features an install. No big deal right? Wrong. The install is 5GB, a pretty hefty install especially for someone with only 7GB of space left on his PS3’s HDD.

I personally don’t mind installs, but when they’re this big I wish I could opt out. A new HDD was a must buy anyway, looks like I’ve been set a date now.

Just posting to give all you footy fans a heads up that the demo for FIFA Soccer 09 will be hitting the PlayStation Store both sides of the pond tomorrow. I played the demo back in August and I have to say the guys at EA Sports seem to have a good thing going with their last three footy games and are pretty much on couse to beat PES 2009 and reclaim the footy crown.

FIFA fan or not get the demo and try it, all those PES fans who haven’t played the last few games are in for a bit of a shock. Oh yeah and the image topping the post is the official UK cover art, nice.

The full game is released on 3rd of October. Check out my M Festival preview of the game here.

[Update] – C.B mentioned that PES fans should turn the passing assists to ‘manual’ and shooting assists to ‘semi’ if they want the true FIFA experience. The game is much better then.

Harmonix ‘Wants’ People To Break Rock Band 2 Street Date by Anthony Barlow

Well not really, a Kotaku reader seems to have scored a copy of Rock Band 2 before it’s released later this month and Harmonix have left him (and others) a nice little message (Image above). On the game’s start page players are treated to a nice little message that reads:

“Welcome to Rock Band 2! Nice work on scoring the game before it comes out!”

How nice of Harmonix. Remember, this is the Xbox 360 version of the game. The PS3 version has an unnanounced (Read: October) release date. This guy’s a jammy git though. Refreshing to see such a nice welcome to people who got the game early, people (Read: Microsoft) have to learn from that really.
