Easter eggs (no not chocolate ones, although they’re good too) are great, especially when they come in big AAA titles like Resistance 2. Some users have found that the guys over at Insomniac seem to have a liking for the work of Hideo Kojima (who dosen’t). Players have found the words “MGS4 PWNS” on the side of an ammo crate in the co-op mode. To find the little gem for yourself check the ‘Spec Ops’ ammo crate after “prototype ammo berserk” has been activated. It’s nice to see devs appreciating the work of others, I wonder what Kojima thinks about this? I wonder if we’ll ever know?

Leviathan Attacking Los Angeles (In Advert Form) by Anthony Barlow

G4 have got hold of some pics of a ‘lifesize’ Leviathan advert for Resistance 2. The ad, which is currently located on Whilshire Ave. in Los Angeles, is covering a whole building and so far there’s been a pretty good reaction to it.

As you can see from the image topping this post the poster is huge, although I can’t help but think they haven’t taken the opportunity and put a huge PS3 logo (or Resistance 2 one) on it. Sure they’re there, but how noticable are they compared to that giant Chimera? Not that big is the answer you’re looking for.

It’s quite likely we’ll see some more massive ad’s popping up in places before the game releases, let’s hope they’re as cool as this one.

Resistance 2 is the sequel to the smash launch hit, Resistance: Fall of Man. This time around it’s bigger, badder, and now with trophies! Hit the jump for the list of trophies (this ones got secret trophies too). They’re worth a look and very well made in my opinion.

IGN have today released footage of one of the cutscenes from Resistance 2. Set in California the cutscene does not spoil the story (or even hint at it really) and hopefully will give gamers a glimpse into what they could be doing come November. Hit the jump for the video. Continue reading

Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty has today officially been canned for release on blu-ray. I personally never saw the point of the game getting released on BD as well as the PSN but, whatever. The game is now on the PSN exclusively just like the US. It seems like the other European territories will still get the game both ways though. I’ve no idea why this decision has been taken but i’ll update you if I find out.

I was pretty buzzed when we got linked by Kotaku well now N4G.com has also linked here. My article on Insomniac and Rare seems to have gotten people talking, so much so commenter ‘8-Bit Punk’ has submitted at least two of our stories to the popular news site.

At the time of writing my article has generated around 200 degrees of ‘heat’ and is featured on the middle of the site’s homepage. All I can say is sweet!

It’s nice to see this little blog going that much further, thanks 8-Bit.

Resistance 2 Public Beta Delayed by Anthony Barlow

Another day, another delay this time it’s Resistance 2’s public beta that has been bitten by the bug this week. The beta, which was scheduled for late September, will now be moved to a later date (possibly early October). I, like many others, think the reason for the delay is nothing to do with the game itself. I think Sony is trying to make sure that all of their properties get a decent look in with everyone. With SOCOM’s beta being pushed back a few days I think Sony will have put the brakes on to stop the betas from clashing with oneanother.

Sounds fair not only does it help Sony but allows gamers to play both betas at different times rather than changing between the two. Doing that could cause favouritism and ultimately hurt the sales or either game. Good looking out Sony.
