The forthcoming DLC for Mirrors Edge will contain  6 new Trophies, a gold, two silver and three Bronze. The gold being particularly hard, you need to “Attain a Time Trial star rating of 90″. The content is due to hit the PSN on the 29th for $10/£6. Don’t forget there will also be a free exclusive PS3 level. 🙂

Right at the end of this month in fact. The downloadable content for EA/DICE’s first person, parkour based, platformer was announced last year and it looks quite good. If your a PS3 owner (obviously with the game) you will be able to download two pieces of downloadable content. The first piece will be free and is exclusive to the PS3, the second is paid-for DLC and is available on all formats.

The free piece is a new level, we presume a time trial and the paid for, which will be $10, has been confirmed to be Time Trial maps. Those having trouble with the time trial trophies (like me) will be glad of this, but of course you’re going to have to fork out for it.

Mirrors Edge has now been, or is about to be, released in most territories. So now that we have the game EA and DICE feel it’s time to let loose some of the info about downloadable content for the game. The content will be released in early 2009 (January me thinks). A Sony rep had said that there would be PS3-exclusive downloadable content. It’s quite likely the content will come in the form of time trials but it would be nice to see EA add in some extra story chapters (apparently the story is a little ropey). Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see. I’m optimistic though. Then again it’ll probably be a skin pack 🙂 .

EA being generous, no way. It seems like EA’s semi-generous streak is continuing. This time it comes alongside the release of the highly anticipated, parkour based, FPS (sort of) Mirrors Edge. EA are giving away 5 free songs from the game’s soundtrack. To download them click here. Now wasn’t that easy. I’ve no idea how good (or bad) the aformentioned music is, but you can’t complain it’s costing nothing.

I’ve recently downloaded and played the Mirror’s Edge demo. When I first saw this game I was skeptical about the how the controls would work, and if this was just another gimmick to sell a game. Hit the jump to see how this demo has changed my mind. Also, this is just a demo play-through, so come back soon for Anthony’s full hands-on with the game from his visit to i35. Continue reading

So close we can almost touch it

So close we can almost touch it

The demo for EA/DICE’s upcoming parkour based first person game Mirrors Edge had been rumored for release in early November. This is not the case. News has just come in that the demo will in fact be hitting the PS Store tomorrow. This gives players the chance to try the game a little bit earlier and hopefully fall in love with it. I’ll be downloading the demo but i’ll save my full impressions for after i35 where i’ll, hopefully, get a better impression of what the game has to offer.

Mirrors Edge is coming this November for PS3 and Xbox 360.
