Ken Lally Confirms Voice Work For COD6 by Anthony Barlow

This is NOT a screenshot!

[By Anthony]

Ken Lally has confirmed that he’s doing voice work for the upcoming Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2  (or “Call Of Duty 6”). Now I know that everyone is wondering, “who the hell is Ken Lally”. Well, acording to IMDB, Lally is the voice actor for Albert Wesker in the upcoming Resident Evil 5 and appeared as ‘The German’ in two episodes of the current season of Heroes. Lally confirmed his affiliation with Infinity Ward’s new shooter in an interview with Coin-Op TV. This makes it extremely likely that we’ll see a new Call Of Duty in 2009. I can’t wait. Announced at E3 maybe?

Home Events Space, Red Bull Leaderboards Creep Into European Homes by Anthony Barlow

Sony seem to have decided to stop announcing new things coming into PlayStation Home. We have been informed that yesterday a new update was released for the service, bringing with it the Home Events space and leaderboards for the Red Bull: Air Race Home space. Now if Sony had announced this, it might have got people to visit. Seems like bad marketing for a company that’s just lost $1 billion +. Either way they’re out, they’re pretty cool. Nothing special, just a new minigame and some leaderboards. Check it out though, it might just take your fancy.

Pursuit Mode Coming To Burnout Paradise Via DLC? by Anthony Barlow

It looks like the Paradise City police have finally caught on to all the racing that goes in in the city they’re supposed to “protect and serve”. Some footage has appeared on the internet presumably showing a police chase of sorts occuring within Paradise City, leading people to suggest that ‘Pursuit Mode’ will be coming back to Burnout via a patch or DLC. You can see that the something regarding police appeared on the Burnout store in the ‘Ultimate Box’ trailer (see the gallery at the bottom of this post) as well as images of a cop car, one of which tops this post.

It’s Friday “i’m in love”, so maybe we’ll get the skinny from Criterion today. Sounds good though, if what’s being said is right I hope we see it soon.

Ok, so now it’s time for the North American PS Store update. As I mentioned earlier today PopCap Games have brought Bejeweled 2 to the store today. As well as that, there’s the return of LBP DLC, the regular updates from all the music games, the exclusive Mirrors Edge map and DLC for, JEPG, Disgaea 3. Savage Moon also makes it’s North American store debut. How novel, something we had first. Check out the full update after the jump. Continue reading

I sorta neglected my writing responsibilities yesterday and forgot to post the updates, they’re here now at least. Starting with Europe. After a long wait those of us in European territories get to play Supersonic Areobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars. This week also sees the return of LittleBigPlanet DLC, some more (useless) DLC for Skate 2 and the PS3 exclusive Mirrors Edge time trial map, as well as the usual updates for Rock Band & Guitar Hero: WT. Hit the jump for a full list of content. Continue reading

Well I rumored it and I was right PopCap are bringing Peggle to the PS3, as well as some other casual delights. Bejeweled, Peggle, Zuma and Heavy Weapon will all be appearing on the PSN soon enough, starting tonight with Bejeweled 2. Not bad, not bad at all. Bejeweled has apparently got some easy trophies too, putting all trophy whores on imediate alert.

Prince Of Persia “Epilogue” coming Feb. 26th by Anthony Barlow

Ubisoft have just announced some upcoming downloadable content for Prince Of Persia. The DLC, named “Epilogue”, will take place directly after the game’s shitty ending and will add to the story a little more.

This DLC will put The Prince and Elika in a new situation against a new enemy. The Shapeshifter (I wonder what his power is?) and will apparently strengthen the bond between the two characters.

The Shapeshifter will apparently take the forms of The Hunter and The Warrior but will require a new power, sprint, in order to defeat him. The DLC also gives Elika the “Energize” power, which will allow her to restore a piece of land temporarily. Ubisoft have said they wanted to “build a challenge and experience even greater with all the tools at our disposal, and let me say that there are a lot: Elika’s power, traps, combat system, etc.”

It seems like it could be cool, I still don’t like the idea of paying for ‘the real ending’ to the game. The DLC is set to hit both PS3 and 360 on February 26th, Ubisoft have not yet provided us with a price. Let’s hope it’s cheap-ish eh.

Savage Moon is Fluffy Logic’s first PlayStation Network offering and it’s not half bad. Set on a series of Imoon’s thoughout space you are set the task of defending crucial mining operations within the different areas, defending them from a barrage of attacks from a massive ammount of, inventive looking, enemies. The game is based around the tower defence style of gameplay but borrows a lot from more traditional real time strategy titles to create something pretty unique. Hit the jump for more. SCEE Blocks Street Fighter II: THDR Release by Anthony Barlow

Super Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix has been one of the most anticipated games on the PlayStation Network and for some, rather daft, reason it didn’t get released in Europe at the same time as it did in North America. A few weeks back, Capcom answered the prayers of fans and announced a date for the game in European territories, but now Sony have stuck their oar in, seemingly for a damn good reason.

It has been revealed by Capcom UK’s Leo Tan that they had submitted the game to Sony twice and had been denied release  on both occasions, with Sony citing that the game had a number of problems and needed to be re-done. Capcom are now working on a new version of the game which will hopefully be available within three weeks.

I wonder why it was denied over here, but released fine in the US? Hopefully Sony know what they’re doing and that this delay will be good in the long term.

Flower Gets Priced by Anthony Barlow

Flower has been described as “pure eye candy” by some and looks to be one of the best downloadable games on the PlayStation Network. Well now, we’ve got a price for it. The game has been priced at $9.99 (which I assume will be about £7.99 in Europe). Not a bad price really, but the length of the game has come under some scrutiny. Either way it looks like a very cool, passive game and something different on the PSN. If you liked Flow, check this out.

Hey people I have returned from my trip to the Big Apple and i’m happy to see that we have been updated whilst I was away. Now that i’m back (and in somewhat of a fit state to write again) normal service will be resumed. Hopefully coming up this week will be reviews of Savage Moon (finally!), Cuboid and Magic Ball.

The picture you see above is of Coney Island’s Wonder Wheel, as made famous by The Warriors. It’s good to be back guys, ok then i’ll crack on.

In a follow up to Anthonys earlier post it has been confirmed that Outrun Online Arcade won’t becoming to the US PSN Store. Sega have revealed that the title is an XBLA exclusive in the States but it will still be available in other regions on both PSN and XBLA.

OutRun Online Arcade is a downloadable version of OutRun 2 and Coast To Coast with added online play and is due out in March.

Sorry this is a bit late in being reported here, we must of missed it last week.
