So let’s see what those Americans have this week. Flower also makes an appearance here too, there’s some cool downloadable stuff, but generally it’s a slow week for PSN games. I think Sony might have delayed some stuff in order to give Flower a better run, if not I think it’ll help either way. Continue reading

Ok, so Europe had a damn good PlayStation Store update this week. Sure, most of it has already been released on the North American store, but good nontheless. What’s not good is the lack of a Killzone 2 demo here, and also that those in North America can’t download it from Europe either due to IP restriction. Shame. So this week’s update is surprisingly crappy. Double shame. Continue reading

It’s going to come as no surprise, but it has been confirmed that Killzone 2 will be getting downloadable content. PlayStation Gamer UK noticed that the boxart for the North American version of the game clearly mentions “add-on content”. It was pretty inevitable, but it’s always nice to have things like this confirmed.

Sony’s other, far less interesting, free online service ‘Life With PlayStation’ was meant to come out this month but has been delayed again. Noam Rimon of SCEA and R&D said that “paperwork” was what was holding up the new service. It was also revealed that the service would work in conjunction with ‘Folding@Home’, so it’ll let us cure cancer whilst doing other stuff.

To be honest looking at the news and weather via my PS3 isn’t something that I really want to do so I can wait. Rimon said that we had to wait “a little bit longer”, which sounds like we’ll see it in September.

Like I said, it’s not that important but with another of Sony’s services being delayed it just seems to fuel the barrage of 360 fanboys saying “the PS3 is [insert insult here]”.

Tretton Speaks On FFXIII Defection by Anthony Barlow

Jack Tertton’s getting like David Hayter (more Hayter news to come) he’s everywhere. The SCEA CEO has obviously just done the conference at E3 so he’s bound to be cropping up a bit. New he’s speaking on Squeenix’s decison to make FFXIII a multi-platform game.

It was a shock heard around the world as Final Fantasy fanboys screamed in agony as their fanboyism and dedication was slowly being tortured by Squeenix (ok…I went a little too far there).

Anyway here’s what Tretton had to say on the matter:

“Am I disappointed by it? Yes,” he said at a recent meeting with game writers. “Am I surprised? No.”

With how the industry is going he added this:

“It’s going to be harder and harder to hold on to franchises,”

Damn right there Jacky! Let’s hope that Sony can get their act together and start to become the overlord of gaming they once where.

God Of War III – Online Content ? by Anthony Barlow

A job listing has appeared on SCEA’s website asking for an “Online Gameplay Programmer”. Not only that but the description mentions working with the team behind ‘God Of War’ and ‘God Of War II’. That team is working on ‘God Of War III’ so is this a taste of what’s to come from the ‘GOW’ franchise from now on?

I personally played very little of the 1st game and have never played the 2nd but i’m definitely intrigued by this one.
