Ooh Zebra

Ooh look, Zebra

Remember Afrika? You know, the nature photgrapy game. Of course you don’t. Today it was announced that the former Asian territory ‘exclusive’ is going to be released in North America (and presumably Europe). The game is being published by National Geographic and will be renamed ‘National Geographic: Africa’ and will be released next month. It might not have a massive audience, but it is nice to see the game finally coming out. I wonder if it’d do better as a download? I guess we’ll never know.

Afrika, Sony’s safari-em-up, is being released in Japan this week and to promote the game they’re putting the game in hotel rooms. The Excel Hotel Tokyu in Haneda is running an Afrika themed promotion to help Sony promote their game, presumably to the mass market. Guests will get to check the game out on a massive screen to add to the virtual safari going experience.

Seems a little unessecary to me, although the game looks pretty cool. I do hope it gets released over here i’d like to check it out.

Afrika Renamed Hakuna Matata? – No Seriously by Anthony Barlow

That’s right according to Siliconera Sony’s Asian territory exclusive Afrika has been renamed Hakuna Matata. Now this sounds like a joke and maybe it’s just a misunderstanding but I think that this name is stupid, I always liked Afrika.

This game looks cool and it’s a shame it’s only coming to Asia but I think that will change. This story is yet to be confirmed so is going down as rumor but hopefully there’ll be more info soon.
