There were been rumblings around the net that LittleBigPlanet was going to be delayed in the UK and Europe this week, these rumors have since turned into something a little more serious. One of the reviewers at an unknown site discovered that in the game’s soundtrack there were quotations from the Quran. Said quotations were deemed offensive by many, including the Muslim community who’ve taken offence to their holy scripture being used in any other form. Hit the jump for more.

The exact quotations are here along with translations into English:

1- In the 18th second: “كل نفس ذائقة الموت” (“kollo nafsin tha’iqatol mawt”, literally: ‘Every soul shall have the taste of death’).

2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: “كل من عليها فان” (“kollo man alaiha fan”, literally: ‘All that is on earth will perish’).

Not very cheery or LittleBigPlanety either. Personally I haven’t noticed the music really and would not have understood the lyrics anyway as I do not speak Arabic. This has now caused a worldwide recall on any copies of LBP that have been shipped thus far, some very lucky people have gotten the game early. One of said people is yours truly.

Story time. Earlier this week (Thursday), I went to pick up my pre-ordered copy of Saints Row 2 from my local import shop, whilst waiting to be served I wandered over to the PS3 games section only to find a copy of LittleBigPlanet sat on the shelf. This is an American copy of the game and I couldn’t not buy it.

So that technically means I have a rare copy of LittleBigPlanet. Cool. I have taken pictures as evidence of my claim. Lucky for some ‘eh.

The new versions of the game have been scheduled to be released on October 27th in North America and has been rumored to be released on the 31st in the UK, although this is unconfirmed. Sorry for the blurry images by the way.
