So we knew Old Snake would be making his way into LittleBigPlanet soon enough but it looks like he’ll be joined by some friends (and well one foe). Sometime in the future, it seems players of LittleBigPlanet will be able to download a Costume Pack featuring four characters from Konami’s hugely popular (and my favourite) series. The pack includes:
- Old Snake
- Meryl Silverburgh
- Screaming Mantis
- Raiden
Pretty cool right? Alongside this pack will be a Level Kit, which will presumably give you stickers, items and whatnot. There’s been no pricing or date announced for these yet, but keep your eyes peeled, the image above comes from the Hong Kong LittleBigPlanet site so they can’t be far away. Looking at the Street Fighter Costume Pack i’d say the costumes will be around £4.79 and the Level Kit around £2.39

More football (soccer) related news here. Italian football club Lazio will be sporting a new shirt for their upcoming game against Inter Milan. Videogame related sponsorship is nothing new to the world of football with Sega having sponsored Arsenal, Nintendo did the same with Fiorentina and Microsoft currently sponsoring the Seattle Sounders. This though is different, although video game companies have sponsored clubs, never has a team been sponsored by a specific game. That’s all about to change.
For one game only Lazio will be wearing a shirt sponsored by Konami’s footy game Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (above). With FIFA winning over critics and fans alike, this is a smart move from Konami. I don’t think it’ll work as well as they think it will though.

Hideo Kojima was honoured at the MTV Games Awards. Kojima was presented the award by Jade Raymond of Ubisoft fame. When asked about the accolade, the legendary designer said:
“I have to say, even though I received this award, let me state that I will not retire. I will continue to create games as long as I live.”
We’re glad to hear that, hopefully we’ll be seeing them on the PS3 exclusively. That would be nice. It’s nice to see Kojima honoured the way he should be.

We’ve just gotten word that the remake of Konami’s classic racer GTi Club, the aptly named GTi Club+, is set to be released on December 4th in Europe for £9.99. There’s been no details on a North American release but i’m assuming it’ll be out around the same time.
Not bad, I hope some more classic Konami titles are coming to the PSN too. Where’s my Metal Gear Solid? Answer me that Konami!

Oh delays, how we hate them. Konami have announced that their forthcoming survival horror game Silent Hill: Homecoming has been delayed for Europe. Those living in North America have been playing the game since last month and it looks like issues with the translation are the cause of the European delay. Konami have now said the game will be coming to European shores in February 2009, which is a bit of a way off.
The game has been getting pretty mixed reviews, but if your a die hard Silent Hill fan and don’t want to wait, importing looks like your only option.

According to our friends over at TheSixthAxis Konami’s footy sim Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2009 is implementing the PS3’s trophy system. It is not known if the game will have support out of the box or if trophies will be patched in at a later date. Trophies are nice and all, but even I wouldn’t buy something I didn’t want for trophies. I might be a trophy whore, but that’s going a little too far.
