It’s October 27th people, which means that the trophy patch for Grand Theft Auto IV is out. Trophies are not retroactive, but I don’t think anyone expected them to be really. As I said last night i’ll be playing the game again for the retrospective piece on GTA and Saints Row 2.
It’s got a good range of trophies in here so you should easily pick up some easy ones.

GTA IV has been announced to be getting trophies and although we have had the list for a few weeks a date has aluded us thus far. Rockstar have today announced that come October 27th ardent GTA fans will be able to start the game all over again and get those trophies.
I might start it again at some point, but there’s too much coming out to really focus on a game like GTA for the second time. I’m still yet to finish it, maybe I should just give up.

Rockstar have been hard at work haven’t they? According to PS3Trophies.co.uk there is a trophy patch coming for the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto IV. No word on if these trophies will be retroactive (I doubt it) but we’ve got the list after the jump. (more…)
Yeah it’s late but it’s here ‘WGDYG?’ has arrived for this week!
- Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Not played this for about 6 months but it’s still amazing! It’s gotta be the best FPS in the market and should be for quite a while. Sniping is great and with the new map pack it just gets even better.
- Grand Theft Auto IV – This has got to be the PS3’s best game right now. I’m probably creeping up on 60 hours and have still not finished this game. It’s not because i’m crap or I don’t want to (I want to finish before MGS4) it’s just because it’s so big a game that I don’t wanna rush it. I probably will have it finished before MGS4 (If I try and burn through it) if not I’ll finish it during the summer drought.
- Rock Band - It seems that I can’t not play this game it’s so damn good! It has made it’s way across the pond now but only on the 360. How anyone can’t like this game is beyond me. The content keeps comin’ and adds to a truly amazing game.

Yeah I got my supposedly ‘refurbished’ PS3 from Sony yesterday and not only that my two copies of GTA IV turned up too. Double Whoot! It’s been a bore without a PS3 for a few days but now it’s back normal service is resumed.
Got home early yesterday only to be met with Sony’s last firmware update (2.30) waiting for me. Not good. Anyway, after the good hour long wait I set up my PSN accounts again and started the downloads of all my games and add-on’s again. I thought about waiting, for about three seconds, and then jumped on GTA IV and Skype.
The game is absolutely sweet definitely in my top two games list (number one being Metal Gear Solid on the PSone). Only had a few hours on it but it’s definitely living up to the hype. If I can actually stop playing it I might post some impressions, but I wouldn’t expect a review any time soon. What I will tell you is that the Special Edition of GTA is well worth it.
Got more stuff to download tonight (All my U.S. PS Store content). But i’ll get that done in the background whilst i’m playing GTA.
Yep, according to Take-Two GTA IV has gone gold and will be on route to retailers very soon. The game’s out in 11 days (April 29th) and is out for PS3 and 360 simultaneously. Pandemonium guaranteed!
I saw this on Kotaku before and thought it would be fun to post here. I know it’s almost stealing their subject but I thought that asking my 1’s of readers how they will be preparing for Grand Theft Auto IV. I’m gonna give you the plan I use for almost every big game release, especially online focused ones but GTA should almost achieve the same thing if not more.
It’s like this:
- Buy a ton of energy drinks – Yeah i’ve got the mini fridge going and it’s usually stocked with cans of whatever I can pick up cheap. Kick is my drink of choice at the minute as it’s 24p a can which is great and better than spending £1+ on a can of Red Bull.
- Stock up on snacks – Not leaving the experience for as long as possible is key when getting truly engrossed in a game so quick snacks are a must. I’d usually go with something light like crisps as they’re nice, quick to eat and don’t take up to much space.
- Cancel All Commitments – Even the blog will have to take a hike for a few days after GTA comes out. Why do you think i’m revising now for my exams at the end of May? So i’ve got more GTA time!

Another day, another post on the XeNonX Blog’s GTA IV countdown. So today was quite boring actually. I got up late, had missed my bus to town and decided well “I can’t be arsed”. I tried to get through a bit more of the extremely engrossing ‘Dark Sector’ before moving onto the more casual ‘Pixel Junk Monsters’ switching between that and ol’ faithful ‘FIFA 08′.
You know the old saying, “Good things come to those who wait” well GTA better be absolutely mind-blowingly good otherwise I will shoot whoever said that. All jokes aside this wait has gone on too long and my ammount of boredom is rising with every passing moment. Sure games like ‘Dark Sector’ pass a couple of hours but generally today has been rather mundain and boring once again. Oh well.
*Announcer Voice* In other news. I found that i’ll only be able to buy both of my copies of GTA if I don’t spend another penny between now and when I have to pay for them and i’ll still have to borrow £20. “You shouldn’t have ordered two then should you, you’re crazy! hear you cry. Well I could’ve just ordered the one but i’m obsessive and NEED the special edition and I can’t wait a few measly days (sad, I know).
Well that’s today’s GTA countdown. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it, which is quite a lot actually because it was the single most exciting thing i’ve done today,
Can’t wait for tomorrow when i’ll have actually done something, wait for it…Different! Yep rather than play games all day i’l be watching Man United hopefully trash The Gooners and put us on course for another Premier League trophy.

Well yesterday I decided without having a decent single player game to play for the next two weeks or so i’d treat myself. I went out to good ol’ Warrington to grab me some stuff.
I picked up Dark Sector, a game I thought looked pretty good, for the small sum of about £18 after using some in-store credit that is. As of now i’m really enjoying it. I haven’t really grasped the story as of yet so might need to check wikipedia but that’s about it. The actions fast and furious with enemies coming from everywhere. The graphics are great and are some of the best i’ve seen in a while. At the moment the game seems really good I like it’s direction and its dark gritty setting and it’s looking good. i just hope I can finish it before GTA arrives.
Stepping away from games now and moving into TV land. HBO show Entourage is one of my favourite shows so I went and picked up the ‘Season 3 Part 2′ DVD box set too. Will be watching that one tonight

Well guess who’s just had a brainwave. I’ve decided on a new feature counting down towards the release of Grand Theft Auto IV. Each day i’ll document what i’ve been doing during this boring 18 day period starting today.
I have officially become an obsessive gamer. I have pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto IV twice, yeah twice. Well my usual gaming retailer ShopTo.net (just thought i’d plug that) usually ship games before their release date and turn up the day before release, so I pre-ordered from them. As I was unable to get the ’special edition’ I have also pre-ordered from GAME. My plan is to have the game before the release date whilst still having the special edition. Then a few days later i’ll trade one of the copy’s in for some store credit.
Well I think it makes sense. I guess if ShopTo gets some more pre-orders for the special edition then i’ll just do that but for now i’m happy with my decision even if it’s a little crazy.
Various sources have been talking about a possible leak of what looks like the achievements for Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox 360. Now obviously this is a blog usually dedicated to all things Playstation related amongst other things but this is GTA news it has to get a post…whatever it is.
The full list of 50 achievements has popped up on ‘Xbox 360 Achievements’ hit the link for a full list but here’s a select few as to not totally ruin the possible surprise.
- ‘Warm Coffee’ – Successfully date a girl to be invited into her house.
- ‘Let Sleeping Rockstars Die’ – Kill a developer in a ranked multiplayer match.
As i’ve said not the usual news put up on here but it’s GTA news which means anything goes. As i’ve said click here for what has been dubbed on the GameSpot forums as “The biggest spoiler warning ever”.
