It’s time to check your emails people. Today more Killzone 2 invites have been sent out to members of PlayStation Underground. It looks like Sony are setting the hype machine rolling on their next big release now that Resistance 2 is finally on store shelves (in the U.S. anyway). Check for invites people, i’ve not got one though

Sony have today corrected their ad for the 6th episode of their ‘online magazine’ Qore. Originally it was said that one off purchasers of the episode would be able to get into the closed beta for Home. This is now not the case, the invites are available to subscribers only. I am not a Qore subscriber and was looking forward to picking up the 6th episode for the beta. Hit the jump to see what Sony had to say. (more…)

Competition time again people. Thanks to one of my sources we have aquired something pretty cool. With the Call Of Duty: World At War beta kicking off earlier in the week everybody’s wanting to play it, myself included. My source has handed me 3 codes for the Xbox 360 beta. To win answer the question after the jump.

When speaking to 1Up, Media Molecule’s Alex Evans sort of confirmed that user created levels from the beta are to stay for the full game. I was just about to post about a poll that MM were running, allowing users to vote on weather the levels from the beta should be kept for the final game.
At the time of writing the community are massively in favor of the levels staying. Looks like MM made the right choice then. This obviously is great news for all of those guys who made sick levels, you can rest knowing you don’t have to remake your masterpieces again.
In other news, IGN’s Chris Roper told fans on Podcast Beyond this week he’d be making the ultimate trophy whores level. Roper said that the level could potentially get you 8 trophies in 30 seconds. Nice.

The SOCOM: Confrontation European beta keys went up at 4pm today on Eurogamer and i’m happy to tell you that myself and Steve have them. The beta is downloading as I type and will hopefully be ready fairly soon. What this means is that not only do we get to play the game before it’s October release but we get to cover it for the site. Double sweet!
I don’t know how long it’ll take before we are able to get some decent impressions outta the thing, but with a month to play the game we’ll have enough time to do it.
At the time of writing there are around 3,000 keys left at Eurogamer so gon on grab one, quickly!

According to a Sony community manager over at the official PlayStation forum LittleBigPlanet will be getting a “limited public beta” in September. There have been no other details as of yet but he did have this to say:
“If it will be possible to ’sign up’ for this test, full information on how to do so will be made public in advance of the test. Similarly if the test is going to be conducted in an invitation-only we will let you know ahead of time.”
I’m really hoping I can get into all of the years big beta’s but this is top of my list. Can’t wait!

Another day, another delay this time it’s Resistance 2’s public beta that has been bitten by the bug this week. The beta, which was scheduled for late September, will now be moved to a later date (possibly early October). I, like many others, think the reason for the delay is nothing to do with the game itself. I think Sony is trying to make sure that all of their properties get a decent look in with everyone. With SOCOM’s beta being pushed back a few days I think Sony will have put the brakes on to stop the betas from clashing with oneanother.
Sounds fair not only does it help Sony but allows gamers to play both betas at different times rather than changing between the two. Doing that could cause favouritism and ultimately hurt the sales or either game. Good looking out Sony.

We have just been informed that the ‘SOCOM: Confrontation’ public beta has been delayed. The beta, that was meant to kick off on September 1st (for GameStop pre-orderers), has been delayed to September 5th. It’s not too long to wait, which is good and because of this the beta will be extended to October 5th.
The Quore customers who get access to the beta are still going to get it on September 8th. Hopefully i’ll get in, even though i’m not in the U.S.

Good news for gamers hoping to try out the latest Socom incarnation, as posting on the official playstation boards Shijima who is apparently European Socom producer, announced the EU beta will kick off at the same time as the US beta on the 1st of September. Official comment after the jump (more…)
With the first batch of “random” invitations to the EU Home beta being dispatched yesterday, it’s a fair chance you did’nt receive yours. Well as the good book says “DONT PANIC” as it would seem there are more invites to come over the next few weeks as the beta progresses. Speaking on the official playstation forums Mr Trill, who is part of the community team, had this to say when asked about the invitation situation.
“I think it is at random.
However I know that they are going to keep on inviting people.
More and more each week.”
So those just itching to start decorating their virtual apartment, creating their online double, or the one handed gaming types relishing the prospect of harrasing any vaguely female avatar they come across, well take a little heart from this and that magic email might be dropping into your inbox very soon.
