Magic Ball is another PSN game by Creat Studios. I’ve played alot of PSN games since I’ve gotten my Ps3 and some have been great and others have been pretty crappy as much as I hate to say it. Which category does Magic Ball fall in? Hit the jump to find out. (more…)

Who thought getting from A to B could be such a challenge? Upon first glance Cuboid definitely seems a very simple concept with a rather easy goal – get from A to B without falling. Well…it’s not that simple. The second of the three games released by Creat Studios and Tik Games, Cuboid is a simple puzzler with enough upstairs to warrant it being one of the most challenging games on the PlayStation Network. Savage Moon is Fluffy Logic’s first PlayStation Network offering and it’s not half bad. Set on a series of Imoon’s thoughout space you are set the task of defending crucial mining operations within the different areas, defending them from a barrage of attacks from a massive ammount of, inventive looking, enemies. The game is based around the tower defence style of gameplay but borrows a lot from more traditional real time strategy titles to create something pretty unique. Hit the jump for more. (more…)

Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is a hard game to review. For one thing, it’s a game that many people enjoy. On the other end, its a game played with tiles. Not a Playstation 3 Controller. The main issue this game had to overcome in my eyes at least was to get it to work well with analog sticks. Did it work? Is this game worth your 10$? Hit the jump to find out. (more…)

Earlier this week I got myself a Q&A session with Fluffy Logic, developers of PSN exclusive Savage Moon. I talked to them about the game in general, downloadable content, the origins of the game and how they feel it compares to other games in the genre. As always i’m here to deliver you, the readers, some top class information and I’m sure this won’t dissapoint. Hit the jump for more.

You may have heard (or read) last week that Ziff Davis had sold 1Up.com to UGO. Alongside this deal came the closing of EGM and 40 job losses. One of these people was 1Up’s news editor Philip Kollar, who I had a chat to earlier today. We talked about the Ziff Davis debacle, what he’s doing now and games in general really. Hit the jump for more. (more…)

Crash Commando was released onto the PlayStation Store on Christmas Eve 2008 and because of all the high profile releases and, frankly, lack of money I think this is another great exclusive that may have been looked over by many. It’s definitely one that shouldn’t have been. Hit the jump to find out why. (more…)

Yet another 2D shooter makes it’s way onto the PlayStation Store and, whilst that might sound like a bad thing, it seems to be going quite well. These games are giving players a good selection within the genre, which is great (at least we’re not being charged to play UNO or something). So, ok on with the review.
For those who don’t know Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer is a 2D, side scrolling, sci-fi shooter from EastAsiaSoft. Released on the PC in December last year, how does this PSN port hold up? Hit the jump to find out. (more…)

Over the autumn/winter period there was a hell of a lot of great releases on the PlayStation Store, but a lot of games seemed to get pushed to one side, with gamers favoring the delights of the bigger retail games rather than some of the gems on Sony’s store. Astro Tripper is one such game. (more…)

Last week I got in contact with Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert and proceeded to quiz him about the PixelJunk games, amongst other things. Being the nice guy that he is, he responded earlier today and, well, hit the jump to see what he had to say. Go on, you know you want to. (more…)

Ok, on the exhibition side of things i35 was a bit hit and miss. That dosen’t mean nothing good came out of it, in fact there’s tons of great stuff. Not all of it content specific but good nontheless. I caught up with Multiplay’s, Online Editor and go to guy for all things press related, Mark Tilbrook to talk about Multiplay’s events, i36 and, well, games. Hit the jump for the interview. (more…)

Ah indie games, how we love them. Some can be gems and some can be, well, less than gems. Thankfully, Tiki Games latest game, NovaStrike is more of a gem than it is a flop. Like all games it has it’s good points and bad but believe me, at just over £6 you won’t do much better. Hit the jump for the rest. (more…)
