It’s that time again folks. Harmonix have dropped some knowlege about what’s coming to Rock Band next week. It’s Scottish trio The Fratellis. Three songs from their, sort of alright, debut album, ‘Costello Music’, will be appearing next week. Good news for fans of The Fratellis, indie music and…Scotland? (more…)

After a pretty prolongued absence, ‘Next Week In Rock Band’ is back. This week we’ve got some classic rock on our hands courtesy of Roy Orbision. A few weeks ago it was rumored (and pretty much confirmed) that Orbision’s music would be making an appearance as DLC in Harmonix’s popular music game and now it’s official. Hit the jump for the tracklist, pricing. (more…)

Harmonix answered many a prayer last week, announcing that Rock Band players can have some classic No Doubt to rock out too, next week…not so much. Harmonix announced a few weeks back that there was a Country music themed pack coming to their game, but I don’t think it’s what people expected.
I’m a big fan of guys like Johnny Cash (and on occasion Kenny Rogers), so I was expecting something pretty damn good, I am bitterly dissapointed. Hit the jump to find out why. (more…)

It seems like Harmonix have been listening to Ad’s pleas and will be providing some really cool downloadable content for Rock Band next week. The Gwen Stefani fronted band, No Doubt, will be making their first appearance in the game with their greatest hits album appearing as downloadable content.

The first question that entered my head upon hearing what was going to be available for Rock Band next week was “What the hell is up with Harmonix?”. It seems like they might, hopefully for one week only, be aiming for a younger/more emo audience. You’ll see what I mean when you hit the jump. (more…)

As you may, or may not, know Harmonix tries to cater for fans of multiple genres of Rock music. This gives us a wide variety of downloadable stuff, but on most weeks only one genre rules the content for that particular week. Of course there are exceptions. Take this week for example. There’s some indie/alt. Rock from The Killers as well as the harder Metal stylings of Lamb Of God and Soundgarden. There’s also some Sweedish Metal thrown in there for good measure. The DLC might be edging towards one genre but there’s something for everyone here, nice job Harmonix. Hit the jump for the full list and pricing. (more…)

Rock Band’s DLC has had a bit of a lull reccently but that all changes next week. Harmonix announced yesterday that the Foo Fighters album ‘The Colour & The Shape’ would be making it’s way to Rock Band next week. The full album will be able to download except Everlong which is included on the Rock Band 2 disc. The album has 12 great tracks for fans of the Foo’s to rock out to. As per usual we have next week’s Rock Band update and once again it’s pretty good. There’s a three pack from alternative rock band, The Presidents Of The United States Of America as well as two singles courtesy of Fall Out Boy and Hinder. The response on the foums has been mixed, but I quite like F.O.B. (sorry Ryan
) so i’ll give that a shot. Hit the jump for the tracklist. (more…)

Something that was promised quite a while ago is finally coming to Rock Band and Rock Band 2. For some reason they’ve decided to release only half the album at the moment, and for $10.99 USD. It’s not a bad price (less than 2 USD for each song) and should be a decent track pack for fans of Nirvana, I for one am not a Nirvana fan, so I can’t see myself downloading it. Keep checking back for updates on the Rock Band store. Hit the jump for the list. (more…)

Another full album for all you bedroom rock stars this week and it comes curtesy of Motley Crue. Yep, next week players will be able to download Crue’s album ‘Dr. Feelgood’. The album has got some great tracks on it including ‘Kickstart My Heart’ amongst (obviously) others. Hit the jump for the full list. (more…)

Story time. I was listening to George Thorogood on the way to a wedding last night (hence the reason there was no updates from me) and thought to myself ‘Bad To The Bone’ would be great as Rock Band DLC. Little did I know that at that moment it was announced by Harmonix that said song would be appearing as DLC next week, weird ‘eh.
Anyway, anecdotes aside it looks like i’m gonna have to bite the bullet and get me some money for Rock Band tracks next week. Hit the jump for the list. (more…)

We’ve been getting some really good stuff DLC-wise for Rock Band lately and next week is no exception. Harmonix have today announced that the (previously announced) Red Hot Chili Peppers album ‘Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik’ will be coming to Rock B
and as DLC next week!
The full album will be available to download on the PSN as of Thursday, the only exception being ‘Give It Away’ which is on the Rock Band 2 disc. Hit the jump for the tracklist. (more…)
