Ok, so Europe had a damn good PlayStation Store update this week. Sure, most of it has already been released on the North American store, but good nontheless. What’s not good is the lack of a Killzone 2 demo here, and also that those in North America can’t download it from Europe either due to IP restriction. Shame. So this week’s update is surprisingly crappy. Double shame. (more…)

Namco Bandai have announced that a new downloadable title, Invincible Tiger: The Legend Of Tao Han, is headed to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Despite the name the screenshots (like the one above) do not feature tigers and according to a Namco Bandai representative the game doesn’t either. The game is said to feature “over the top combat” for one or two players as you battle against undead ninjas. I think undead ninjas make up for the lack of tigers, although I could be wrong. This one looks pretty cool, watch this space for more info.

It’s one week until, arguably the biggest fighting franchise ever, Street Fighter returns to the shelves and already Capcom are talking downloadable content. Like many other fighting franchises that have hit the current generation of consoles downloadable content will be offered. Famitsu revealed earlier this week that Street Fighter IV would be getting downloadable content. Nice. What’s nicer is, some of it will be free. (more…)

Rockstar have announced that a sequel to the, somewhat popular, PS2 and Xbox game, Red Dead Revolver is coming. Red Dead Redemption will utilise the RAGE engine and has been promised to have “strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment” when it’s released later this year on PS3 and Xbox 360.

There has been few details released about the game, but it has been announced that you won’t be playing as Red Hollow, the original game’s protagonist, but a guy named John Martson. It has also been confirmed that the game will take place in the early 20th century.

I did play the original game and loved it, but felt it needed to be more ‘open world’ than it actually was. I’m really happy Rockstar announced this, and personally, I can’t wait.

Another release here announcement, this time it’s Capcom’s turn. The, somewhat highly anticipated, remake of Bionic Commando is to be released this upcoming May. The game is to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360, in all territories, in the fifth month of 2009. It has been confirmed that the PC version will follow soon after. It looks cool, I hope it’s good, we could do with a cool, new Spider-Man game. I said it, but you were all thinking it.

SEGA announced yesterday that the fourth, home console, installment of their popular arcade tennis game, Virtua Tennis, is to be released this May. The game will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. All of the VT mainstays are there, singles matches, doubles and the ‘World Tour’ mode will all return, with the ‘World Tour’ now having leaderboards. The minigames are back too and are said to feature “crocodiles, pirates and fruit”. What would Virtua Tennis be without it’s minigames. So…anyone for tennis?
