It was revealed earlier today that the downloadable Ratchet & Clank game, Quest For Booty, would be 2.3 Gigabytes. This might seem like a lot but bear in mind it’s only an Episode of Quore and a demo or two so it shouldn’t bee too much of a problem.
Remember, the game lauches worldwide on August 21st for $14.99. I can’t wait!

The PlayStation brand has always had it’s mascots and withe each generation that seems to change. Now with a host of big sony exclusives coming out towards the end of this year who could be the new face of the PlayStation brand, of course, LBP’s own Sackboy!
We want LittleBigPlanet to lead the charge into a new genre of gaming and turn Sackboy into the next emblematic character for the PS3… We have coined 2008 ‘the year of the PS3′, and are confident that with the launch of LittleBigPlanet we will continue to see the momentum build throughout the end of this year and on to the next… This is a very big title for us.
He seems like the right choice to me. He targets the casual crowd with his ‘family friendly’ look and also caters for the hardcore who know what LBP is and what you can do with it. I can see Sackboy and LBP being really good things for Sony. I also have a feeling that the casual crowd will soon move away from their Wii’s in seach of more and find LBP and Sackboy too good to turn down.

Something new and possibly exclusive has cropped up on NeoGaf. The USK has rated a 12+ rated SCE published game called ‘Savage Moon’. The USK’s brief description states that the game is a miliatary strategy game. Could this be something new from Sony out of Leipzig then?

Now everyone who has a U.S. PSN account knows how much better the U.S. Store is compared to the UK one. Well now that might change. According to a community moderator on the European PlayStation forums has confirmed that the European Store is getting a makeover tomorrow.
The new stuff will hopefully make the UK Store as good as it’s American counterpart. There will be an A-Z search function added as well as a general makeover. I hope it’s the same or better than the U.S. store, it’ll make finding content a hell of a lot easier.

More LBP news now. I mentioned earlier that LittleBigPlanet would be getting pre-order bonuses in the UK and Europe. With the American’s getting stuff for pre-ordering their copies it’s only right that Sony and MM bring us some stuff too. There’s no more yet but news on this should be expected “soon”. I’m expecting that this could be one of the announcements Alex Evans wants to make at Games Convention next week.
I think it’d be cool if we got the same or similar stuff to the U.S. but some exclusives would be nice too. When the U.S. pre-order stuff was announced players were clamouring for a plush Sackboy, something which the guys want to do and personally I think that’d be a pretty cool pre-order bonus.
Here’s the full list of bonuses for America:
- An official ‘LittleBigPlanet Creators Guide’ from Brady Games
- A LittleBigStickerBook – A sticker book, believe it or not
- A LittleBigPouch – A burlap sack reportedly big enough to fit a copy of LBP
- An exclusive Nariko (Heavenly Sword) Sackgirl
- An exclusive Kratos (God Of War) Sackboy

The official boxart for Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet has finally been revealed. ThreeSpeech has revaled the official UK boxart for the game and personally I think it’s nice. It shows just enough for the caual audience to get a feel for it and it doesn’t need to aim for the hardocore audience because the hardore gamers already know what the game is about. Either way the art is nice, if a little cluttered.
I still haven’t gotten confirmation if this game is coming over the PSN as well. It’d be nice if it did but I might buy ity on disc for some of the pre-order bonuses (yes they’re coming to Europe – more later).
The boxart is at the top of the post.

One of my most anticipated PSN titles has arrived on the Japanese PS Store and not only that it has a demo! I’m getting the full game tomorrow from the U.S. so i’m definitely downloading this later on. According to TheSixthAxis the demo is up now and according to commenters the demo is all in English so that’s good.
It’s definitely worth checking out.

Kotaku seem to have the scoop on the new Batman game and their source has dropped some details. Now whilst these details aren’t official they give me some hope that the game will be good.
First of all their source has revealed that the game is being developed by Pandemic, but that was pretty much confirmed already. The source also says that the game will be open world and that Batman will get around both on foot, using the grapling hook and in the Batmobile. You will also be attending to regular crimes (a la True Crime and Spider-Man 2) as well as the big super villain ones.
The source also commented on why the game has been delayed. Apparently the combat dosen’t work all that well due to the free roaming camera, a lack of moves Batman can do which makes the game awfully repetative.
Now whilst there’s no solid facts there but that definitely sounds like the game is being made. It’s a shame that the combat isn’t working that well yet, but with no release date or confirmation that the game is being made (official confirmation that is) Pandemic have got time to make it work.
Another source has said that Pandemic have taken creative libeties with the game and have, gladly, they’ve based iot on the new movie but have set the game after the events of ‘The Dark Knight’, which is good from a story telling perspective as well as a gameplay one.

Recently Capcom came out and said they’d have an exclusive feature for PS3 owners. When I heard this I thought: exclusive SFIV or the new SF2:THDR characters, a demo maybe. Nope. Capcom announced that their Street Fighter surprise is that the PsOne version of Street Fighter Alpha would be appearing as a classic on the PS Store. What an amazing announcement that was!
The game will be available on the PS Store this Thursday for £3.49. Look on the bright side, it’s another classic on the store.

Sony’s Play TV will be hitting Europe, as promised, next month. The digital box’s price point, once again as promised, will be under £100 and will come out at £69.99. The box, which is the equivalent to recordable freview, seems like a nice feature to add to the PS3 and is something I myself might invest in. The box has two tuners so you can watch one programme whilst recording another.
It definitely looks like something to look out for especially if I can get some money off it
.
Braid has really excited the games press and although I have seen very little I have to agree it does look cool. Imagine a cross between Donkey Kong on the NES and Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time. Yeah, it’s hard to imagine but check out the video above and see what you think.
Earlier this week Jonothan Blow developer of the XBLA title has nor ruled out a PS3 version, which could come at a later date after Microsofts exclusivity deal expires.
It would be nice, I think it’d be more suited to the PSN as it has more of an audience for quirky titles like Braid. It has been well recieved by the preess but I don’t think that the 360 audience has taken to it too well and the $15 price point might be putting many people not used to spending 1200 spacebucks on a game.
Filed under: Event Coverage | Tags: FIFA 09, M Festival, Mercenaries 2, Spore, Tiger Woods 09, XeNonX

Just to let you know, the impressions from M Festival will be up tomorrow instead of today. I’ve been busy and have not been able to finish writing up my impressions yet anyway. I thought, rather than rush it i’d make sure I got everything important in there and make sure it’s well polished.
The games i’ve got impressions on are:
- FIFA 09
- Mercenaries 2: World In Flames
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
- Spore: Creature Creator
So there’s a bit of stuff going up tomorrow. I only managed to get time with the creature creating side of Spore (shame) but i can hopefully gibe you guys a bit on an insight. Just to let you know, FIFA is the game I had the longest time with and to be honest it was my main priority to get as much coverage on that as I could. There are details from an interview with EA’s Greg Baker. I would’ve transcribed the interview but I couldn’t get my hands on a dictaphone (should’ve phoned Shaun) but the info is there either way.
