This site is generally not known for it’s TV news (in fact I don’t think i’ve ever posted any), but these two shows are so exceptionally good they deserve a mention. Like I said before, September is a big month for a lot of things. There’s a lot of good games coming out then but the news that there’ll be new Prison Break and Entourage is the icing on the cake.
I’m a massive fan of both shows and can’t wait to see what happens next. Micheal Schofield is on the warpath after the company killed his girlfrind and Vince and his entourage are looking toward their new movie Shilo (I think that’s how you spell it). I can’t wait to see what happens.
Seems like a good couple of months for all things entertainment then.

Now unlike the movie, the first videogame based on Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’ was, to be fair, not the best. Well now EA have dropped some details on the game’s sequel.
Currently set to be released in Feburary 2009 ‘The Godfather II’ is a combination of a GTA style action game with some RTS elements dubbed ‘The Don’s View’, which will allow players to see the whole city and what’s going on, amongst other things.
Speaking of locations, the new game will not just feature 1960’s NYC, but will also feature Florida and Cuba.
Kotaku’s Brian Crecente gives out some info on the new ‘Don’s View’ feature:
To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces “The Don’s View” – an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don’s View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.
Sounds like EA could turn the franchise around with this one. I just hope that the mix of GTA and RTS dosen’t make the game too compliacated and generally a bit crap to play. I have hope.

The trophy news keeps pouring in here at XeNonX lately and PAIN is the latest game to get the addition of trophies. This news comes from Sony’s PlayStation Blog which features a, rather short, Q&A with the producer of the game Travis Williams.
The trophies will be coming on September 4th along with the new ‘Amusement Park’ add-on pack. Travis only talked about a few of the additions and said that he’ll talk about the new trophies for the ‘Amusement Park’ add-on at another time.
Here’s that short Q&A for ya:
Q: When will Trophies be available for PAIN?
A: When the Amusement Park ships on 9-4-2008 we will update PAIN to include trophies.Q: When does Amusement Park ship?
A: DuhQ: Are Trophies retroactive?
A: Most of the trophy requirements are new so we haven’t tracked your progress until now. Some work you will get credit for.Q: Are you CRAZY?!
A: Yes… Yes I am.
And here’s the trophies that have been confirmed so far:
PAIN Trophies
Gold Trophies
- Affliction Addiction: Get one billion points (Good Luck)
Silver Trophies
- Dude Abides: Use “The Dude” to score 50 Strikes in Bowling
Bronze Trophies
- 10 Mill Club: Get “PAIN in the Park” and “D-Town Destruction”
- Harder Dick’s Balls: Get all of Dick’s Balls in the Block Party Dumpster without resetting
(Heh heh heh) I really need adult supervision.- D-Town Destruction: Get 10,000,000 score in PAINdemonium and Aftermath
- Combo Mambo: Get 20x Combo in PAINdemonium, Aftermath, Block Party and Demolition
- Attention Spam: Get every type of PAIN (Groin, Head, Arm, Hand, Leg, Foot and Body) combo in PAINdemonium, Aftermath, Block Party and Demolition
PAIN Add-on Character Trophies
- Trill: Get PAINful Tosser Trophy with Scurv Dogg or Hung Lo
- Grenade-A-Maid: Get Exploded 500 times with any female launchable character.
Seems like PAIN is going the SSHD route by only letting users get some trophies by downloading stuff. Then again it’s only £0.69 so not too bad. September should be a good month for most things then (more on that later).

It was pretty much revealed that Dylan Jobe and the guys over at Incognito were planning on a new expansion for WarHawk after the potential trophy list leak eariler in the week mentioning Jetpacks and Tau Crater (a new map).
Well now the guys over at TSA seem to have the scoop that there will be a new expansion, which is dated for sometime in August. This pack named ‘Operation Fallen Star’ will include Jetpacks and at least one new map (possibly Tau Crater).
There’s been no more news on this as of yet, but you know i’ll keep you guys posted.

So XeNonX’s 1st games convention/event thingy, M Festival, kicked off today and guess what i’m not there
. Yes I said I was gonna be there and I am, but not just yet. Due to accomodation problems it looks like i’ll probably have to wait until the last day of the show to attend (I don’t have the money to travel between Manchester and Warwickshire twice a day). Yeah, it sucks but on the bright side it’s on a Monday which’ll probably mean less daft kids wandering the halls with parents because they’re all at work. Making it an easier job for me.
I’ll still get to see all of the games on show, it just means i’ll miss the opening, probably Gemma Atkinson (she’s opening the event) and possibly some of the main stage events. Never mind eh, it was never gonna run smoothly, was it. Monday should still give me some valuable experience and hopefully a little more time to talk to some industry peeps (I’m on a mission to get a hold of the FIFA guys and ask them ‘really important’ questions).
Other than that everything is still going to plan. I’m gonna be there doing whatever I need to do (playing FIFA 09 multiple times) and covering it all for you guys my valuable readers. I’ll even have some hired (yet unpaid) help with me so you might just see some of his impressions up there too.
I wonder if i’ll get any cool swag?
Like I said I am still attending the show, on Monday, and will be wearing my mandatory XeNonX t-shirt to help advertise. So if any readers are there look out for me, I sincerely doubt random readers will be spotting me there though. It’s not like i’m Greg Miller or anything.
