My sources tell me that Rockstar’s new game could be a next generation version of their ‘Max Payne’ franchise. There’s been no real info on Rockstar’s new title, but with the ‘Max Payne’ movie coming out soon could Rockstar get a game out to coincide with the release of the film or perhaps even adapt the movie into a game? Only time will tell. It has also been rumored that Rockstar London will be developing the company’s new game.
It definitely makes sense and with Rockstar making it how can a movie tie-in be bad. ‘The Warriors’ was great.

My source has come through again. This time he’s sent me to Gamasutra’s ‘Job Seeker’ website and to a link about 2K Boston (the guys who made the original BioShock). After Reading through the job description I’ve found that it makes many a reference to the original BioShock, in particular “We expect you to be familiar with BioShock”. This quote, along with many others relating to the franchise, leads me to believe that there will be a multiplayer mode in BioShock 2.
Obviously this in unconfirmed but the ammount of references to BioShock seems to make it pretty obvious that the team intends to add multiplayer to the new game. My theory is that either the game will feature an online co-op mode which could be the same as the single player experience or a seperate mode altogether. Either that or they’re going to add some mad dethmatch mode to the game, which seems like it’d ruin the game to be honest, and in the end not be very good.
The advertisement also states the platforms the game will be developed on will be the PS3, 360 and Windows. This is again something that suggests BioShock 2.
Your thoughts please.

Seems cool. I didn’t pick the game up before but will definitely do so tomorrow. Yes I am a trophy whore.

I personally thought that the PS3’s trophies for BioShock would be straight ports of the 360’s achivements. Not so says Tyann Wales. Wales revealed two of the games exclusive gold trophies for the PS3 version. The trophies which could apparently be unlocked simulateously. Said trophies are ‘A Man Chooses’ which will be unlocked for beating the game on ‘Survivor’ mode and ‘I Choose The Impossible’ which is the same with vita chambers turned off.
It actually looked like 2K are actually interested in making this game more than just a port. I have never played the game so it’ll be great for me.

So more music game news here and the setlist for Konami’s ‘Rock Revolution’ has been revealed but is anyone arsed? Now I know Konami started the whole rhythm game genre but c’mon can they compete with Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
Anyway for those who are bothered here’s the setlist for the game. It’s got some nice stuff but I won’t be buying it.
All The Small Things – blink-182
Chop Suey! – System Of A Down
Cum On Feel The Noize – Quiet Riot (Slade)
Dance, Dance – Fall Out Boy
Detroit Rock City – Kiss
Dr. Feelgood – Motley Crue
Highway Star – Deep Purple
Holy Wars… The Punishment Due – Megadeth
Pull Me Under – Dream Theater
Somebody Told Me – The Killers
Spoonman – Soundgarden
Stone Cold Crazy – Queen
The Joker And The Thief – Wolfmother
Spirit Of Radio – Rush
We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister
White Room – Cream
Youth Gone Wild – Skid Row
Dirty Little Secret – All American Rejects
Last Resort – Papa Roach
Round And Round – Ratt
Still Of The Night – Whitesnake
Are You Gonna Be My Girl – Jet
No One Like You – Scorpions
Diary Of Jane – Breaking Benjamin
Blitzkrieg Bop – The Ramones
Falling Away From Me – Korn
The End Of Heartache – Killswitch Engage
Run To The Hills – Iron Maiden
Walk – Pantera
Heading Out To The Highway – Judas Priest
Won’t Get Fooled Again – The Who
Pain – Three Days Grace

Bad Reputation – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Our Truth – Lacuna Coil
Sk8er Boi – Avril Lavigne
Kiss Me Deadly – Lita Ford
Magic Man – Heart
Paralyzer – Finger Eleven
Given Up – Linkin Park
Like I said, some nice stuff and some stuff nicked from Rock Band but to be honest I don’t want another music rhythm game.

Rock Band 2 was announced to be a timed 360 exclusive which really bummed me out. Now the other console releases seem to have been revealed. A Kotaku tipster sent them an image of release dates on what looked like a shop’s computer screen. Anyway here’s the release dates:
Xbox 360 – 14th September
PS3 – 19th October
Wii – 18th November
No PS2 date yet, but whoot! 19th October. It’s not confirmed yet so it’s going down as rumor but I hope it’s true.

Alex Evans of Media Molecule has been talking all things LBP in an interview with Eurogamer last week and he wants to do another big reveal for LittleBigPlanet a la GDC 2007. He said:
“A lot of people say to me that when we first did that Sony GDC reveal of LittleBigPlanet, that was a big shock – people didn’t see it coming,” said Evans. “I want to do another LittleBigPlanet reveal that people don’t see coming. It’s still LittleBigPlanet, but people will be saying, ‘I thought it was this – now you’re telling me it’s this as well?!‘ That excites me hugely.”
It’d be great to see another big surprise from Media Molecule about LBP. I’m still waiting for Solid Sackboy. Making a shooter or something PixelJunky would be nice too.

I was pretty dissapointed that ‘Battlefield: Bad Company’ only came with one online mode, but at least it was fun. Anyway, it has been announced today that the new add-on for the game will be arriving on Thursday for both PS3 and 360. The ‘Conquest’ mode was first seen in ‘Battlefield: 1942′ and is now making it’s way to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Now i’ve never played a ‘Battlefield’ game before ‘Bad Company’ so this mode will be new to me at least.

Well it’s been reported around the interwebs that Squeenix is about to release a remake of Final Fantasy VII, exclusive to PS3 too. This rumor comes after a number of reports that some Best Buy ‘coming soon’ posters are displaying that the game will be released on the 16th August 2008. Now this could be a massive cock up by Best Buy but it could also be a gesture to Sony that the Sqeenix guys still want to do right by Sony.
Personally I think (I know this is gonna shatter fanboys dreams everywhere) that this is a misprint and that this is a actually meant to be the release date of the blu-ray release of Final ‘Fantasy VII: Advent Children’. It would be nice if this was true and would definitely be a massive PS3 system seller, but I just can’t see it happening. Well not anytime soon anyway.
I’ve provided an image of the poster at the top of the post.

According to my sources, Sony and/or Naughty Dog are planning to announce ‘Uncharted 2′ (electric boogaloo, perhaps?) at Leipzig this year. Not heard anything more on this yet but i’ll try and extort some more information from my source and any other rumors he might have.
The rumor that’s been going around for a while now is that the game will be set in Atlantis and will once again feature Nathan Drake. This seems quite possible and could be cool, but is once again unconfirmed. Some mocked up box art is above.

It’s here and it’s well before the expected August 22nd drop date. The ‘Uncharted: Drakes Fortune’ trophy patch has arrived and I haven’t picked up the game yet. As expected the trophies mirror the in-game ‘achivements’ so those who have completed the game with all of this stuff are bound to be a little pissed off. I’m one of the many who didn’t do this so i’ll be great to get into the game again. Hey I might even go and pick it up now. It has also been rumored that the UK/Europe version is the only version of ‘Uncharted’ to have been patched so far, at the time of writing there is no conformation of this but I wll try and find out.
No news yet on the full list of trophies available but i’ll try and get it to ya ASAP.
