I’ve just been looking at the stories over at TheSixThaxis and found that, basically, they’re ripping me off! No not in a bad, they need suing way but in a sort of unintentional, stealing my features way. They’ve started writing parodies. Readers of the XAVFS blog and occasionally of this one will know that i’ve dabbled in the writing of parodies.
Anyway i’m cool with the fact that they’ve stepped it up. In fact i’ve challenged them to a parody-off. I have spoken to Michael from the site and he’s cool with it so let the parodying begin!
The rules of the parody-off are:
- The parodies must be related to gaming
- All parodies must be parodies of real songs
- Parodies must stick to the same structure as the original
The parodies will be voted on and the winner will be decided one week on Friday. Let the songwriting begin.
BTW, that bit at the start is a joke I don’t want any mad SixthAxis reader coming to kill me.

I’ve just been browsing the interwebs looking for LBP and found this. Brain Ashcraft over at Kotaku posted a list of things he found out about the game at E3. I thought this was worthy content so I’d like to share it with you.
• The game will feature trophies.
• If two players of different levels play co-op together and one falls behind, that player will instantly die and respawn so the two players can keep up.
• There are over 60 tutorials that focus on creating.
• Because the Sony E3 press conference showed it was possible to embed text on objects, it will now be possible to do that in-game. (Media Molecule wants to make sure everything it’s now showing with LBP is actually possible for users to make.
• Originally, they planned to give players complete freedom of depth, but found that a richer experience could be gotten with only three layers of depth.
• If you use voice chat, Sack Boy will be lipsynched to your speech.
• The tags used to label level you create are pre-selected and were intially from LOL Cats. This has since been changed.
• Stephen Fry does voice over work for the create mode.
• It hasn’t been announced if you can import your own music into the game. Says Evans, “There’s no reason technically why not.”
Most of this is news to me. They got Stephen Fry, now that’s pretty cool. I can’t wait for trophies too!

David reeves has come out and told Eurogamer that the user generated content in LittleBigPlanet will be free when the game launches.
He said:
“SCEE and Media Molecule can guarantee that all consumer-generated content will be free at launch. We know how important this is to the LBP community and what we want most is for people to enjoy playing, creating and sharing their content,”
Sounds good to me but we did hear that there would be saleable user created assets. Thank god this won’t be there for stuff like this. I’ll bring you more on this when I get it.

This news comes from BBSPSPChina. According to them Sony are already planning on releasing some new PSP hardware. This new hardware will suposedly be an update to the PSP Slim (or PSP 2000). It will apparently include a built-in microphone, some button changes, some cosmetic changes and possibly mobile phone support.
Now this all sounds really nice and it has been backed up with an image (above). This shows that the ‘Home’ button has been replaced with the standard ‘PS’ button, which is probably to avoid any confusion between the PSP and Sony’s ‘Home’ service. You can also see that the microphone is located next to the volume buttons.

Note that on the image above it seems like there’s no square opening on the back of the PSP and just a silver ring. Could this mean that just this section opens or that the future of PSP dosen’t include UMD’s?
I’ll try and get more info ASAP but consider this a rumor for now. There’s pro’s and con’s as to why this could be true but I would’ve expected something this big to be announced at E3. Anyway, like I said i’ll be trying to get some more info and will post it as I get it.

God I hope this is true. I don’t wanna see the 360 get an exclusive Portal game. Announced last week a port of Valve’s Portal will be coming to XBLA. Apparently PC owners have been asking why the 360 version was getting new content, well according to former Shacknews Chris Remo the “additional content” is not nessecarily “new content”. He says that this content will be the content from the Portal: The Flash Version Map Pack. The pack that PC owners can already get for free.
Obviously there’s no conformation on this yet but it does make sense.
The Last Guy is one of those PSN titles i’ve heard of but never looked into. I’d heard it was somehow using google maps in the game and that it was a top down sorta deal but after watching this gameplay trailer it dosen’t just look like a simple game, it’s an awesome looking game!
Basically you lead survivors into the designated ‘escape zones’ away from the zombies and such. I’ve not got too many details yet but I hope to have some soon. It’d be great if you could use your location as the map. Whoot zombies in Manchester!
This game is a definite must have for anyone who owns a PS3. According to Kotaku it’s gonna be under $5 (probably $4.99) let’s just hoipe people in the UK & Europe (like me) get screwed again like we did with Elefunk. It’s set to be released in Japan at the end of the month. Here’s hoping that I can get my hands on it soon after.
