Whooooooo! I’ve finished college this week and now have eight weeks off before going back in September. That is a hell of a lot of time off, which means a hell of a lot of game time. I have a LOT of games to play over the two months I have off and here’s the list.
- Devil May Cry 4 – PS3
- Everybody’s Golf: World Tour – PS3
- Grand Theft Auto 4 – PS3
- Stuntman: Ignition – PS3
- Top Spin 3 – PS3
- Ico – PS2
- Shadow Of The Colossus – PS2
Obviously i’ll be picking up some more games during the time off. I’m thinking of picking up God Of War and God Of War II and probably some of the PS3 games i’ve missed (Ninja Gaiden Sigma, The Darkness). Plus with the new trophy stuff on the PS3 they’ll probably be a few rentals down the line of trophy supporting games.

It has emerged that Digital Extremes, the team behind glaive ‘em up Dark Sector, is going to help the various teams at 2K and will be optimizing the game for the PS3. The game now has four different teams working on it so it might be the case of two many cooks. Personally I doubt it’ll affect the game and could possibly make it better. Dark Sector was pretty good graphically.

Alongside the announcement from Sony that some games will support trophies it has also been announced that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will be the next game to get the trophy treatment. I will definitely rent it and play it again, walkthrough in hand, to get me some nice points.
It was also announced that Burnout: Paradise will be getting PS3 trophy support soon and it’s been rumored to drop in the autumn. I was going to pick up the game again for the ‘Codename: Cagney’ update (whoo bikes!). They’re two of the best games on the PS3 so can’t wait for that.
Insomniac have come out and said they currently have not plans to add trophies to Resistance: Fall Of Man or Ratchet & Clank: Tool’s Of Destruction. I hope they do though it’ll give me a reason to play em again.
After a number of people complained about Firmware 2.40 bricking their PS3’s Sony have pulled the update and have reverted back to using 2.36 as their latest.
Personally I’ve had no problems with the update but I’m glad that Sony have done something about the problem now rather than leaving it any longer.
I can see it coming back fairly soon though.

Yay 2.40 is here and hasn’t given me any problems whoot! I’ve been trophy hunting for two days now on SSHD and it’s goin quite well, 6 bronze 2 silver.
I’m loving the trophies it makes games like Stardust that much better because there’s an objective to the game now rather than just a high score. I can’t wait for more games to support trophies because it does look like i’m becoming a little bit of a trophy whore.
Everything else is really cool too i’ve used the messaging more than ever now with the in game XrossMediaBar plus I can check what I need to do for more trophies.
The new profile card is cool too it displays all of the recent trophies i’ve won plus it looks better than just a screen. Plus if Sony get their act together we can have a ‘gamer card’ sort of thing.
Everything’s going sweet I hope they patch some games for trophies soon because I really want trophies they’re great (I’ve turned into the Frosties mascot)
