Capcom have released a few new screens for their upcoming fighter Street Fighter IV. I really like the look of this game and it’s not very often a fighter catches my attention like this has. I can’t wait for it to come out. Menu screens are on the agenda for Capcom and oooh how exciting. I picked the best one to top the post.

With the annoncement that trophies are coming to PS3 and with the likelyhood of most games supporting them fairly soon it looks like i’ve got a bit of renting to do. I trade in a lot of my games when they’re finished and although some of them would be painful to play through again (Kane & Lynch, Assasins Creed) it’s quite likely that i’ll go back and play them again just for the trophies.

They’re the ones I can remember and personally I wouldn’t mind playing through some of them again just for the trophies but I wouldn’t expect many of them to have it patched in any time soon.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention DualShock 3 controllers are finally hitting Europe TOMORROW. Yeah a nice little announcement to go along with the whole Wednesday thing. The DualShock 3 is hitting Europe on the 2nd July (Tomorrow) after a wait of well…bleedin’ ages.
I’ve had my DualShock since last christmas and don’t know how I’d play games without it now. Even if a game dosen’t have rumble (which most do) the controller just feels better in your hand. It’s got more weight to it than the standard SixAxis controller which feels really cheap in comparison.
The controllers will retail at around £40 but you can get them at around £30 if you shop around. I might have to pick another one up if I can get it cheap – I’m expecting misprices already.
After being bombarded with good news over the past day or so it seems that there was a bit of a mistake with some of it. It sounded a bit crappy that the PS3’s trophies wouldn’t make a sound when you unlocked them but now according to Sony’s Jeff Rubenstien the trophies will have a noise to acompany the unlock.
“Actually on my way home, I got an email from Eric [Lempel, director, PlayStation Network Operations] asking me to update this post; there *will* be a sound effect when a user unlocks a trophy. You’ll be hearing it soon enough. Hopefully a lot…”
Not too much of a big deal but it’s nice to know that this close to release they’re still working on it to make it as good as it can be.
it has been found that Sony have filed a patent for a portable device with multiple touch points. The US patent office have said it’s a “handheld device with touchscreen and digital tactile pixels”. It does not specifically mention the PSP but does mention that this could be used in phones, portable gaming devices and portable media players. One can only wonder if the rumor of a PSP2 was right and this is Sony’s answer to the DS.

We all new it was coming EA Sports latest itteration of the FIFA franchise is expected to hit around October and good ol’ EA have released some nice new screens alongside a rather hefty press release.
The press release basically says that FIFA 09 is coming to every console known to man (yep FIFA on the Dreamcast). It also says that PS3 owners will be getting an exclusive game mode. It goes no further than that and just teases us with the prospect of something really cool. Damn you EA!
I, like many others are hoping for some ‘Home’ intergration. Maybe something similar to the arena in FIFA 08 but played in ‘Home’ like a jumpers for goalposts sort of thing. That would be really cool.
I hope EA keep it coming and FIFA looks sweet if it plays as well as UEFA Euro 2008 did Konami better have a trick up their sleeve because I think EA are going to dominate again this year.

It was announced way back when that Rock Band’s 1st album would be The Who’s ‘Who’s Next’, the first album cam around and it was not The Who (it was Judas Priest). Finally 12 of The Who’s greatest hits will be appearing as Rock Band DLC as of July 15th (i’m assuming July 17th – PSN). It has been confirmed that ‘Who’s Next’ is unlikely to ever come out as DLC as half of the albums master tracks were stolen ‘misplaced’

It was rumored yesterday over at TheSixthAxis that Sony would be releasing some PS2 games over the PlayStation Store. This post also came with a very realistic looking screenshot. Sony have responded to this and have said they currently have “no plans” for PS2 downloads on PSN…yet.
I’d hope they would release them at some point and of course this could be real but for now all we’ve got is this nice screenshot which may or may not be real.
Sony gave early PS2 online adopters a headset with SOCOM and the trend continues. Sony will now be offering an official bluetooth headset with the release of SOCOM: Confrontation, in the retail version only (obviously). Well whenever SOCOM gets released it’ll get realeased with this really nice looking headset which comes with this cool looking dock.
I use a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones when I’m playing and they’re great. We can expect that this will be good quality with the rest of Sony’s tech but I don’t think i’ll be swapping my headset for one of these. I guess if you haven’t got one then this will be great for you.
Yeah I said you’d see something on this soon and well here it is. Harmonix have also revealed the 1st of the new peripherals which is (drumroll please)…a new guitar. Although it does not look like it has new features (like Guitar Hero’s touch pad).
This new guitar looks really cool and has been given a more “grown up” faux wood look which is quite nice. It’s another Fender and although I don’t think i’ll pick one up yet it does look really cool.

Yeah, I meant to post this last night but y’know, sleep got in the way. Harmonix has announced that Rock Band 2 will be coming this year. Sweet! It will be coming out pretty much simulateously in Europe and the US for the 360 in September whilst PS3 players will have to wait until later in the year. I’m expecting a 3 month exclusivity meaning the PS3 version could be out in December.
Another cool announcement is that ALL of your downloadable content will be able to be used in Rock Band 2 which is really sweet. It has also been revealed that there will be new peripherals (more later) but the game should be sold seperately.
It looks like those early leaks were true and although Guitar Hero: World Tour looks cool I think Rock Band might have just edged it again.
